Its been quite a year this year and time has gotten away from me! I have always struggled with reading the scriptures and praying daily, but I have tried my best despite my weakness. I haven't been the best lately at reading the scriptures and praying daily, but I do know that the days I do pray in the morning and/or listen to the scriptures during my commute to work, I am able to handle the stress of the day much much better then the days I do not read and/or prayer.
I am learning that in order to make it though all the day to day fiery darts of the devil, a sure foundation is what each and every person needs. A sure foundation requires many little things. Daily prayer and scripture study are just a couple of them. A sure foundations requires hard work, effort, service/charity (which is the pure love of Christ), and trust. Trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. If we trust Heavenly Father and Jesus all things will fall into place eventually. It may be many years down the road, but things will work out eventually. I am trying to strengthen my own foundation. If my foundation is not strong, then how can I raise a family in the future to be strong enough to withstand the fiery darts of the devil as they grow up? It is not a family friendly world we live in. I have seen many changes, and not for the good, in my short time on earth/in mortality. I cannot image what the world will be like when I do have a family.
