One of my institute classes is called Women in the Scriptures. Today we talked about Mary mother of Jesus. It was really nice to just stop for 50 minutes and listen to what the spirit had to teach me about one of the greatest women in the history of this earth.
How faithful Mary was in being prepared to be told by an angel of the Lord, you will have a baby and Mary says, how can this be since i know not a man (Luke 1:34) and the angel tells hers, "and the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35) To be told, you are going to have a baby boy and he will be the Son of God and all Mary says is "And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angle departed from her: (Luke 1:38)
WOW! The Lord had prepared Mary very well to accept what He was putting in her life. I hope I can continue to accept what the Lord sees fit to place in my life like Mary did. I challenge you who read this to go home and study Luke 1:26-56 and see if you can find attributes of Mary that you would like to develop so that you are prepared for what the Lord sees fit to place in your life. I know Mary was chosen of God to raise and teach our Savior. I hope you will find out for yourself. I say this in the name of our glorious Savior. Amen.
In my attempt to share this wonderful message of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have created this blog. I am trying to post a little spiritual thought as often as I can, so that I will be able to bring hope, peace, and comfort to anyone who reads and hearkens to the council of the living Prophets and Apostles. I hope you will feel the sincerity in my words. I would love feedback and am more than willing to answer any questions that you may have to the best of my knowledge.
